Crew Neck Twist Sweater

5 Skiens of Twist Yarn Worsted Weight

Cast on 58 stitches with number 7 needles
work for 4 rows (1 x 1 ribbing)
Change to 9 needle
Work in ribbing for 1 1/4 inches
Change to number 11 needles
Work for 3-4 inches and then increase 4 stitches
Work this for 5 inches and increase 4 stitches (two on each side)
Work one more inch and then bind off three on each side for armholes
Work one row (either purl or knit) more and then
Bind off one more stitch on each side
Work enough in stockinette to make the armholes 7 inches deep
Then Bind Off for Neck:
Divide in thirds the number of stitches left on the needles
Work one third of the stitches, bind off one third and then work the remaining one-third until all the way across

Leaving the furthest set of stitches on the left hook, work with the most recently knit stitches and knit two more inches in length. Every other row bind off one more stitch for a total of 3 on each side of the neck area. Then bind these off.

Carefully begin the knitting on the reserved side being careful to twist the outer stitch on every other row around twice to keep the neckline tight -- or you can tighten the stitches when sewing the crew ribbing in place later.

Work the back in the same manner, only make the sleeve 8 inches deep before binding off the neck, and finish off with one more inch in stockinette.
