Ears for A Hat Bogg'n
Half double crocheted tube, crochet hook J with bulky or worsted 3-4 weight, yarn held double, length extending head desired amount. Cast on 45, for adult's)}
At top of the tube sew closed and draw yarn along seam by stitching to gather, pull very tight and secure
There will be two peaks, one at each end; gather these tightly together by stitching and fastening off.
You will have a bogg'n shape, over each ear attach yarn placing the first markers at the intended back about 4 inches apart and create 17 stitches slip stitch single crochet toward the front on the bottom hem on each side
Working in 17 stitches one single crochet and one chain across each group counting as one stitch, next rows crochet single into each chain below.
When you have the flaps about 4 inches in length from beginning rows at hem, finish off.
You need 2 or more matching buttons to sew on left flap, placing them your favorite way so you might fasten the balaclava over your mouth for warmth and protection.
Make 2, 2-3 inch pompoms. Use fun fur or part fun fur (or any novelty yarn) and matching yarn held together over your wrapping base, wrap 60 times approximately, tie tightly in the center, leave two ends that you tied it with to proceed to tie the pom POM's to top of your hat leaning your favorite way. Then sew the pompoms once more with regular thread and needle. Takes about 10 ounces at the most of yarn.
Merry Christmas!
