Striped Sport Yarn in a Brightly Colored Sweater

The cuffs are done in a heavier weight worsted in a bronze shade of brown, while the body is worked in stripes of deep cocoa brown or chocolate, turquoise and jockey or cherry red, your preference, all done on size 7 American needles.
It is about 23 inches long and the bottom is also finished in the bronze-ier brown shade the trim is approximately 1 1/8 inches.

The stripes are about 3.5 inches for each shade and the neckline is a modified jewel/boatneck finished in single crochet. Cap sleeves gathered and eased into a set-in silouhette finish it off. Sleeves are a little long at 22 inches.

Here it is scanned.

The turquoise is a little unique so it is fun to wear. It is stretchy and soft, it is only red heart sport weight. It is also fun to mix purple with red, cream amd black.
Cast on 76 to begin the rib trim for the body, work a little more than one inch in one by one ribbing, change to a color in front and back increasing 10 stitches by the time you reach the armholes, bind off 6 on each side of piece in front and 5 in the back. The stripes will begin every 3.5 inches in a varying color.
Arms: Cast on 36 in the bronzeier brown also work a little greater than one inch in one by one rib. You will need to total 56 stitches as you work up the sleeve, do this by increasing (56-36=20) 4 stitches every color change, also every 3.5 inches to match the body's stripes as exactly as you can. You will be changing colors 5 times from cuff until armhole bind off. Bind off five stitches over two rows (=46 remaining) than bind off 12 stitches during each color on the edges, the first two colors = 22 stitches remaining, now you are to the final cap area and third color beginning at which you can taper to about 18 stitches or your preference to create a slight gathering to set-in to your garment's body.
For neckline cast off 22 in front working up to shoulder and casting off a few more on each side as desired until achieving about 2.5 inches in length and then bind off shoulders. In back cast off 32 plus two more on each side before completing approximately 11/4 inches length and then bind off shoulders.
