Brown Sugar Cupcakes-No Egg Yolk

1 1/4 cup brown sugar
1 stick of margarine
1 egg white
1/5-1/4 cup salad dressing like miracle whip
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
1 cup water 1 1/4 cup self rising flour

cream sugar, butter, egg white, salad dressing, vanilla and salt
add baking powder with one third of each of the flour and water
mix well, add another third of the flour and water
mix, add final third of flour and water

Chips, any kind you like--white, toll house, caramel etc. (optional)

Spoon the batter over three or four candy chips, or, spoon the batter in the baking cups in the cupcake tin and add chips in at this point by putting on top of each cake and shoving under the batter a little, they should be shoved into the cake to avoid scorching, this makes a chocolate chip mini cake where the first technique makes a candy crust (fancier).

Or, omit the candy.

Bake about 9-13 minutes or until done.

Cool and frost with frosting below.

Refrigerate or freeze until time to eat. Refrigerate leftovers.

Makes around twenty cakes or 68 gem cakes. If the pan is bigger fill the extra tins halfway with water so nothing burns.

Stumbled Upon Icing that Does Not Use Powdered Sugar

I developed a new recipe for Christmas and any time really due to a lack of supplies and I am very pleased with it.

8 oz. cream cheese
2 TB corn syrup
1/3 cup of light brown sugar
1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract (imitation is ok)

Whip the softened cream cheese with a cake mixer. Blend in the corn syrup. Blend in the vanilla extract. Finally add the brown sugar and whip until fluffy all with the same pair of beaters.

Delicious icing for cakes.

I stuffed this into a star decorating tube and dolloped gem cakes with it, no xxxx sugar needed!

This is what is left of it. Raindeer cupcake wrappers, easy as pie.

Tunic Sweater /dress:for Christmas

Using Herschnerr's Holiday Yarns -- red mixed with silver thread and white, create this triped wide striped sweater dress that is drop shouldered until you put in on and layer a red top underneath it. Uses 10 needles for ribbed hem and neckline and 11 for the body. This takes under 4 skeins, 2 of each. Front about 6 inches above the knee.

Neckline.

Rear.

It is pretty much the same number of stitches starting at the hem until the modified boat neckline. The armholes are finished in single crochet with matching yarn. Bottom row of white for 10 inches, red next at 7 inches, 4 inches of white and a final 9 inches of red.  It is worked in two sections, front plus back, the back neckline is 1 inch before binding completely off and the front is 2 inches before bind off. Cast 57 stitches on and rib in 2x1 ribbing. Decrease three for the body, till the bustline then increase back to 57 stitches. Sew sides and shoulders before finishing the armholes with single crochet.

This can be done in half double crochet plus rib stitch and a J hook. Chain 55 stitches for the bottom band and work the body with 54 stitches of hdc for the same number of inches as above (10w, 7r, 4w and 9r for the red/white). Chain 55 for the collar neckband and work in crochet rib for 1 1/4 inch--Since this is an easy fitting design. The shoulder seam can be sewn last to accommodate the neckband results most exactly or you could cast on the neckband with 16 inch circular knitting needles and do a 2x1 rib.

This pattern has been edited --the original post misstated the number of inches per stripe color [[Red nine inches or so and white 5 inches in duration while knitting in 'st st.']]This WILL NOT match the picture, it IS: 10 inches of white, 7 inches of red, 4 inches of white and finally 9 inches of red, a 30 inch tunic dress, if you want it longer add one inch of red and one inch of white to one of the stripes of that color. It is pretty with this width of stripes and looks 'store bought.'
Since this was only about an hour or two ago, I am leaving this here, assuming no one could have gotten too far along with the pattern yet.

European Emigration Ships 1900

If you're into finding out how your European ancesters got to North America years ago, most of us came from somewhere namely LONDON-- when researching sirnames, almost everyone I know had a sirname that originated in LONDON, which includes about 11 last names, a shock because they have mixed ancestrage even Indian (native American-Indian).
You can research emigration ships or lists for no cost at this website-- although I don't know how long this site will be up.

Names from LONDON (I found these somewhere online a few years ago maybe three years ago). Luebke(R), Cole, Cope, Hancock, Schuster, Miller, Choate, Sibberson, Jones and so on. Whether they were Scotish, Irish, Polish or what have you it seems that most people flocked to London for jobs and enough money to move.

Recycling a Stash of T's

Take an un-loved sweatshirt with an unwanted design, a long sleeved tee in stripes or print and LAYER them. First turn the sweat top inside out -->
This is super dark but you can see the idea, bunch up the sweatshirt to the length you like and pull the other tee down tunic length, it should be fitted.

A new look for $0.00
a steal !

Socotra

Yemen:

Socotra:

Socotra is about 3/5th the size of Hawaii.
Or, the same size as all of the other inhabitable Hawaiian Islands combined.
It is very diverse and unique, devoted to religion and tourism and keen on golfing, fishing, growing dates and tobacco.70-80 degrees all year and history back to B.C. There are caves.

The people remain more purebred than in many places
 ""EXCERPT FROM WIKIPEDIA

HHaplogroup J-P209 is believed to have arisen roughly 30,000 years ago in Southwest Asia (possibly in Arabia Felix)  aplogroup J-P209 (previously known as HG9 or Eu9/Eu10) is a Y-chromosome DNA haplogroup. It is one of the major male lines of all living men. It is divided into two main branches referred to as J-M267 and J-M172.

Distribution

Haplogroup J-P209 is found in greatest concentration in Southwestern Arabian Peninsula. Outside of this region, haplogroup J-P209 has a presence in North Africa. It also has a moderate presence in Southern Europe (especially in central and southern Italy, Malta, Greece, and Albania), Central Asia, and South Asia, particularly in the form of its subclade J-M172. Haplogroup J-P209 is also found in north East Africa, particularly in the form of its subclade (J-M267). The J-M410 subclade is found mostly in Greece, Anatolia, and southern Italy. In Northern India, 28.7% of the Shia Muslim population belongs to haplogroup J.[1]
Haplogroup J-P209* includes all of J-P209 except for J-M267 and J-M172. J-P209* is rarely found outside of the island of Socotra, where it is quite frequent at 71.4%.[2] Haplogroup J-P209* also has been found with lower frequency in Oman,[3] Ashkenazi Jews,[4], Saudi Arabia,[5] Greece,[3] the Czech Republic,[3][6] and several Turkic peoples.[7][8][9]
The following gives a summary of most of the studies which specifically tested for J-M267 and J-M172, showing its distribution in Europe, North Africa, the Middle East and Central Asia.

Collar And Wrist Cuffs in Lush Lavendar

Cast on 128 stitches in size 7 American needles (Use 16 inch Boyle circular needles-inexpensive and easy)
Work two by two ribs for one inch
Work in Stockinette stitch for about 9 inches or more if desired
Change to 3 by 2 rib stitch and work for about 1 1/2 inches

Fingerless Wrist Cuffs:
Cast on 50 stitches on 7 double pointed needles (use double pointed set of four, this will not take five needles)
Work 2x3 rib stitch for 2 inches, make button hole by casting off three of the stitches, continue around and then cast on three chain stitch when you reach the cast off area. This will be large enough for a thumb hole.
Work one more rib row and change to straight stockinette stitch for 6 inches.
Work one by one rib at this point for about two inches.
Done.

One 8 oz. skein of Red Heart Super Saver is more that sufficient. You can probably make two sets of wristlets and one collar with an 8 oz. skein.

If you like Find the design here, also.

Eyelining Tool Needs to be Invented

Pretty eyes are within the reach of many people with only traditional -- nice -- eyes as they approach adulthood. As a child eyes are huge and lashes are lush and or long while at adult hood lashes appear shorter (they turn white or ash at the ends) and eyes seen smaller and if you begin using mascara you may never go back to bare eyes because the mascara gives you back the wide eyed innocent, sweet look of your youth. Some men even use a little I hear, even though with rich brows they don't loose as much eye appear as the girls do when you compare to younger times.

It is hard to apply eyeliner well when it comes to reshaping the eyes when you get even older, just following the lash lines may not do the job anymore, going without might work but even better would be a tool.

I read somewhere about using the back of a plastic spoon to keep mascara from touching your lids during application and it gave me an idea -- other tools to stencil on eyeliner, like eyebrow stencils, but for the eyeliner.

I was reading TiffanyD who I follow and I am eagerly planning some stencils so I can look prettier, especially around the eyes. Photo of Tiffany clipped from UTube.

Her creative spins on eye corners:
> a. top and bottom wing out
\  b. only top wings out.

These get filled in by putting a dot off center of the lid toward the outer corner, meaning the outer third of the eye gets traced with a line (b.) that gets filled in into a triangular shape when you connect the off center dot to the line you have drawn, with another line keeping both the outline line and the new connector line very sharp and being careful not to smudge, you can work a the tilt until it suits you and you can apply a clear or masking tape to make a clean straight edge, you could even use a square of cardboard (from a boxtop, a post card, etc.) to make the line super straight and sharp.

Choice a. repeats the technique on both the top and bottom lids, only you mustn't dare let the boundary lines come together anywhere except the outer eye corner. Hence I am looking for a tool. I think once again a cardboard with a V snipped out of it could be held against the outer corner to make the edges perfect.

String Crochet-I Love This

http://trepid.wordpress.com/2011/09/28/string-crochet-red-and-white-top-wgreen/

The instructions are at my other blogsite. It is size 10 such as Country Maid crochet string in variegated plus Spanish red held double. I love the swirly way it turned out. I use a fast H hook. This pattern is a size small.

It is cute with whites when you can't find other things, or black with a white blouse underneath. You might like deep red pants with it. It's like a lightweight sweater top that used to be mass produced years ago and sold at K-mart, dimestores and etcetera.

It is easy to make in about a week or less.

Halloween Party for Adult Women and More?

Sew a long skirt, share the pattern.

This is a long culotte with an inverted box pleat in the front ant palazzo with zip in the back, butterick probably has it.
Eerie.
Add a fleece tunic with patch pockets at the hem.

This is the same deep brown shade, eerie once more, especially when together.
The skirt is twill or poplin or jersey would do and the top is fleece with a placket neck and two patch pockets in front, over the hip.

Add straight center parted hair if you dare. Dark make-up is good too.

Incredibly freaky.

Each piece will take two yards of 60 inch fabric and thread, two buttons or three and one zipper for notions for both.
Have games and punch, include DVDs that you have rented if someone has a player. Be creative, play charades for prizes that you snatch from a fish pond etc. INvite other people too if you like , kids boyfriend husband etc., boss.
You are the "Witches Brew." Ask everyone to write a terrible and scary poem for a prize.

After the party, use the tunic with black slacks and the skirt with a nice blouse for church.

~ The End.

X-Back Halter Sweater

This hand knit halter is teal with white criss cross straps in the back with a button close neckline that wraps the throat and fastens in the back.

The lurex piece is a skirt that works with it, silver lurex threads are enchanting with the white criss-cross back. Size 10 US standard knitting needles and an H crochet hook for the simple chain criss cross strap that ties in the center back.

The top is knit by creating a 2/3 waist ribbing with a folded over edge for the chain tie and a bib front shaped like a wide mouth funnel, add the under arm edges an extra tab is created on both sides for the back chain string to lace through two times, one time to run through the loop tabs and the bottom folded flaps and one time straight across the back as a bra would.

X   <--- at="at" bottom="bottom" is="is" it="it" left="left" like="like" nbsp="nbsp" on="on" open.="open." p="p" scan="scan" tabs="tabs" the="the" this="this" underarm="underarm">                a three inch section on each side and taper to a point, or you could make them oval at the end, as you decrease 2 on each side for about 2 inches to create the tabs that serve to lace the chain string.

Presidential Election November 2012

                                                   -AN OPINION-

It is hard to choose whether to go down in history letting the American black population hold onto their comrade in brotherhood and win another term or let his ever so handsome opponent do so, another great looking guy to watch attempt to oversee mostly the country's budget. You'll definitely need a list of pros and cons, but you will probably have to do a lot of reading on your own as I see the election is coming across like a beauty pageant. And, Obama has cheated with Michelle, she is a little hard to outshine in the looks department. Or, maybe they are vying for the President of the Student Council, either of these candidates appear to be younger than they are. I, myself, don't mind having something to look at with all the levels of government negotiating among themselves, how can the President go that far wrong? Of course that is a very bad attitude, it is our duty as citizens and residents to weigh out the advantages of electing any given candidate.

I've always pondered that even Democracies are a touch of a decorated Monarchy, and I don't mind I like glitter, I wish they were allowed two costumes like in some South American, African and European countries. Oh, yes or Asian, or, anywhere else a royal line carries on. Who are you going to choose, I am a little torn?

What is your Favorite Song?

Can you think of more? Rock songs for inspiration? Rock songs that soothe the nerves or pep up morale--not just noise?

"Smoke on the water" is a song that comes in handy two times: one-when beginning to smoke; two-when ceasing to smoke.

Bikini Trim

Earlier this winter I turned 55 years old. It is showing in small ways that I am not as young as I was at twenty-two. Like, when, as I have done since age fourteen, I sometime throw in some callisthenics to get really trim, I got on the floor to do as many sit ups as possible. Day one eighty, day two, 90, and, day three say 115. Before five days I, like a daredevil pushed myself to do 200, after all lots of people do three even five hundred EVERY day, so... .

I will never do two hundred again. My stomach, after a sleek and slim sillohoute for the next few hours, as always, actually it usually stays sleek for four days after this, became swollen and puffy. Oh, no. Not only that but it did not QUIT swelling for four days. RATS!!;[

I guess eighty should be all I do like this. That will teach me to not be so 'young' in the future.

Leg Warmer To Match

Leg Warmers actually, I think they are cute to wear with the wrist cuffs below. I added a 4 inch 2x2 rib and excluded the thumb hole, plus about a 2 stitch increase twice during the body to the pattern for the wrist warmers. This made a great fit, my calves are about 12", ankles about 8". Since I did the wristlets with 46 cast on, I only increase to 48 as the deep ribs go around the ankle and create a snugness. Neither piece is skin tight. These are a few inches greater in length than the wrist warmer, also, as many more as you like. Use a new (not a shrunken worn one) knee sock for the guide to length.
I squeezed these onto a round size US 7 knitting needle in the smaller size either 12" or 16", either piece can go on in length as long as you prefer, from ankles to mid-thigh or from wristlet to elbow, although the tops could become tight unless you are thin. Instead of Red Heart worsted, Canon Softee, wool blends or faux wool yarns will be even cozier, especially for the leg warmers--while the sturdier universal worsteds are great endurable choices for your hand and wrist warmer.
